Magnus Direct Primary Care

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Magnus Direct Primary Care website handles information when you browse the site, contact the practice, or follow a link to an external service.

Last updated: September 1, 2026

Scope of this policy

This is a website privacy policy. It is not Magnus Direct Primary Care’s HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices and does not describe every way the medical practice may use or disclose protected health information.

Do not send medical details or urgent concerns through ordinary email. Existing patients should use the secure patient portal for patient communication. For a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Information you choose to provide

The website provides telephone and email contact options. If you contact Magnus, the practice receives the information you choose to provide, such as your name, contact details, and message. Please limit ordinary email to non-clinical administrative, location, or membership questions.

Enrollment and patient-portal links lead to SigmaMD. Information entered on that platform is collected and handled by the applicable external service and its own terms and privacy practices, not by this website.

Email and text-message communication

If you provide an email address or mobile phone number and consent to communication, Magnus may use that information for appointment reminders, scheduling information, office updates, administrative or account messages, care coordination, membership-related communication, and other messages you have agreed to receive. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply.

For text messaging, Magnus may maintain your name, mobile number, consent status, communication preferences, message history, and information needed to document and honor opt-in or opt-out requests. Consent to promotional or non-essential text messages is not required as a condition of receiving medical care.

Standard email and SMS/text messaging may not be fully secure. Messages may be seen by others who have access to your device, telephone number, email account, or mobile-carrier account. Existing patients should use the secure patient portal for medical questions whenever possible.

Technical information

Like most websites, the site’s hosting, security, and delivery systems may automatically process limited technical information needed to serve and protect the site. This may include an Internet Protocol address, browser or device information, requested pages, referring page, and access date and time.

Magnus may use this information to operate the website, maintain security, diagnose technical problems, and understand general site performance. The current site does not include an advertising network or a first-party website contact form.

Cookies and similar technologies

WordPress and the site’s hosting or security systems may use cookies or similar technologies when technically necessary to provide, secure, or administer the website. Browser settings generally allow you to control cookies, although blocking necessary technologies may affect site operation.

External services and media

The site links to services operated by other organizations, including SigmaMD, YouTube, and Google Maps. Some pages display preview images hosted by YouTube. When your browser requests an externally hosted image or you follow an external link, that provider may receive technical information and apply its own privacy policy. Magnus does not control those external services.

How information may be used and shared

  • To respond to a question or request you send to the practice.
  • To operate, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the website.
  • To comply with applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request.
  • To protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Magnus, its patients, website visitors, or others.

Magnus does not state that website information is sold or used for advertising. Service providers may process limited information on Magnus’s behalf when needed to host, secure, or operate the site.

Magnus does not sell mobile phone numbers and does not share SMS opt-in data, phone numbers, or SMS consent information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. SMS-related information may be disclosed to vendors that help send, receive, manage, or document messages, subject to appropriate privacy and security protections when required.

SMS choices

You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to a message from Magnus or by contacting the office. After opting out, you may receive one final confirmation message. For help, reply HELP or contact Magnus using the information below. Opting out may limit appointment reminders and other convenient text communications, but you may still contact the practice by telephone, email, or patient portal.

Retention and security

Information is retained only as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was received, ordinary business records, security, and legal obligations. Exact retention can vary with the type of information and the system involved.

Magnus uses reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the website, but no Internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children’s privacy

This website is intended to provide general information about an adult medical practice and is not directed to children under 13. Magnus does not knowingly use the website to solicit personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

Magnus may revise this policy as the website or applicable practices change. The updated date above indicates the latest revision.
